Lunch and Learn: Understanding Frontotemporal Dementia

What is the difference between Alzheimer’s dementia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD)? How can healthcare professionals help individuals and their family members who are coping with a diagnosis of FTD? This presentation is designed to introduce you to the different types of FTD, including primary progressive aphasia (PPA) and the behavioral variant of frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD), and will provide you with a practical roadmap for developing a person-centered, functional plan of care to increase meaningful life participation. Attendees will learn about practical strategies to manage symptoms of FTD, including communication difficulties and behavioral challenges.
