McFarland Presents to Villa Park Rotary

Terra Vista of Oakbrook Terrace – Oakbrook Terrace, IL

Terra Vista’s Executive Director, Natalie McFarland, RN, BSN, recently addressed the Villa Park Rotarty at a weekly luncheon. McFarland was invited to give an informational presentation by Village Manager, Rich Keehner. The Villa Park Rotary meets once a week to discuss local issues and stay connected with the community. As a newer member of the community at large, Terra Vista was honored to present at the meeting and thrilled to be given the opportunity to educate the public on dementia and Alzheimer’s.

McFarland discussed the basics of dementia as well as the warning signs that could alert family members that a loved one may have Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia. The group in attendance was very interested in the topic and came prepared with many questions. “It was great to get such a good response and see so much interest. Alzheimer’s is one of the fastest growing diseases in America and people need to be made aware of this” said McFarland.

Though Terra Vista hasn’t officially opened to receive residents, our information office is open at 100 E. Roosevelt and residency applications are being accepted. We are already working hard at becoming a community resource for Alzheimer’s and dementia information and support. We are just as dedicated to the families of those living with dementia as we are the individual themselves and want to do everything we can to make life easier and more comfortable for everyone involved.

If you have questions about Terra Vista or would like to book McFarland for a seminar or presentation, please call 630-534-0886. McFarland is an RN, BSN and Dementia Care Educator and all engagements are free of charge.
